Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 13, 2026
1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly: name, email address, phone number, and fishing-related data (catch records, photos, GPS coordinates) submitted through the platform. We also collect standard server logs (IP addresses, browser type, pages visited) for security and performance purposes.
If you create your account by signing in with Google or Facebook (see Section 3), we also receive your name, email address, and profile photo from that provider β and nothing else. We do not request, store, or access your contacts, friends list, posts, calendar, drive contents, or any other Google or Facebook data beyond basic profile and email.
2. Sign-In with Google & Facebook (OAuth)
FishingSpree offers "Sign in with Google" and "Sign in with Facebook" for account creation and login. When you choose one of these options:
- The provider (Google or Facebook) asks you to confirm that you want to share your name, email address, and profile photo with FishingSpree.
- We receive only those three fields. We do not receive your password.
- We use this information solely to create and identify your FishingSpree account.
- We never post to, read from, or take any action on your behalf on Google or Facebook.
- You can revoke FishingSpree's access at any time in your Google Account permissions (myaccount.google.com/permissions) or Facebook Settings β Apps and Websites.
- FishingSpree's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
If you previously signed up via Google or Facebook and want to delete your data, follow the deletion process in Section 7 below β revoking provider access on Google/Facebook does not automatically delete your FishingSpree data.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your data to operate the FishingSpree tournament platform β registering teams, recording catches, calculating leaderboards, processing payments, and sending tournament-related notifications. We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your information for advertising.
4. Payment Information
All payment processing is handled by Stripe. FishingSpree does not store credit card numbers. Stripe's privacy policy applies to all payment data. For payout recipients, W-9 tax information is collected and retained as required by U.S. law.
5. Photos and Location Data
Catch submission photos are stripped of EXIF metadata (including GPS coordinates embedded in the file) before storage. GPS coordinates collected at submission time are stored separately and used only for catch verification. Photos are stored on Linode Object Storage.
6. Data Sharing & Service Providers
Your catch records and team information are visible to tournament organizers and staff for that tournament. Public leaderboards display angler names and scores when the organizer publishes them.
We share data with the following service providers only as necessary to operate the platform:
- Stripe (payments & payouts) β receives the payment amount, your email, and your name when you check out.
- Linode (Akamai) β hosts our servers and stores uploaded photos.
- SendGrid (Twilio) β sends transactional emails (registration confirmations, fish-submission status, etc.) on our behalf.
- Google & Meta (Facebook) β only if you choose to sign in via one of these providers; see Section 2.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
7. Data Retention & Deletion
Your angler profile and catch history are retained for as long as your account is active. You may request complete deletion of your account and associated data β including data we received from Google or Facebook sign-in β by emailing privacy@clickingspree.com. We will permanently delete your data within 30 days of request, except for records we are legally required to retain (e.g., W-9 tax records for payout recipients, retained 7 years).
8. Cookies
We use a single session cookie for authentication. No third-party advertising cookies are used. Analytics, if enabled, uses privacy-preserving methods without cross-site tracking.
9. Children's Privacy (COPPA)
FishingSpree is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 13. To create a FishingSpree account, you must be at least 13 years old β we enforce this at signup by requiring date of birth and rejecting anyone younger.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child under 13 has created an account in violation of this policy, please email privacy@clickingspree.com and we will delete the account and all associated data promptly (typically within 7 days).
If a tournament wishes to include anglers under 13 (for example, a youth event), a parent or legal guardian must register on the child's behalf using the parent's account, supervise all interactions, and is fully responsible for any data submitted.
Junior anglers ages 13β17 may use FishingSpree subject to all of these terms. We recommend, but do not require, parental involvement for younger anglers in this range.
10. Your Rights
You may access, correct, or delete your personal information at any time through your profile settings or by contacting privacy@clickingspree.com. For GDPR and CCPA requests, we respond within 30 days.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email to active users. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
